NDT Coordinator - Market Leader - Qingdao
My client, a global leader in the oil and gas industry requires a NDT Coordinator to work on a major LNG project.
GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITY
Coordinates non-destructive tests on site (RT, UT, MT, PT, PMI, Phase Array) and ATEX inspection.
SPECIFIC ACCOUNTABILITIES
*Obtains the three-month NDE programmes each week from the requesting contractors.
*Ensures that the contractors' requests are consistent, workable and provided within the required
*periods.
*Provides day-to-day coordination between the requesting contractors and the contractor responsible for non-destructive examination, organises, manages and drafts the meeting minutes, follows up any actions and reminders.
*In the event of difficulty, formally records failures and quantifies the associated back charges.
*Directly supervises the contractor carrying out the NDE work, in terms of personal protection, quality, costs and performance, and takes any steps necessary to make any required corrections.
*Ensures the production quality of NDE technical reports and that they are issued within the required periods.
*Manages backlogs and ensures they are dealt with as expeditiously as possible.
*Produces a weekly report including:
*Individual performance of the NDE teams.
*Consolidated three-month programme for planned NDE.
*Reconciliation by contractors of requests scheduled for the week versus request realities.
*Table of backlogs and their management.
*Planned NDE personnel mobilisation and demobilisation depending on the workload.
*Table showing management of radioactive sources and their environment.
*Organises and writes minutes of meetings with the NDE contractor, follows up actions.
*Assists the QC team with all questions relating to NDE.
*Carries out ATEX inspections of the site's permanent facilities.
RELATIONSHIPS
*The contractor responsible for Non-Destructive Examination (NDE).
*The contractors responsible for construction work and which request NDE.
*The construction persons in each area supervising the above contractors.
*The QC coordinators in each area.
*All persons directly or indirectly involved in NDE activities (HSE Dept., etc.).
TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE (work requirements - necessary training and education)
*Degree in mechanical engineering or general engineer with experience in the field.
*At least five years' experience in the area of quality and in a similar position.
*Strong abilities in supervision, organisation and coordination, communication qualities, very good interpersonal skills.
*Very good command of French and English (read, written, spoken).
*Computer skills: Microsoft Office, Adobe PDF Pro, if possible Win PCS.
